What does the information on cut protection classes mean for shoes?

Depending on the performance of your chainsaw and the area of application, you can choose from different cut protection classes. These offer you the highest possible protection against injuries and guarantee safe working with your chainsaw.

The cut protection classes  are divided into 5 levels according to the European test standard (EN 381):

Class 0 = 16m/s chain speed

Class 1 = 20m/s chain speed (standard)

Class 2 = 24m/s chain speed

Class 3 = 28m/s chain speed

Class 4 = 32m/s chain speed 

The chain speed depends largely on the performance of your chainsaw. The higher the performance of your chainsaw, the higher the protection class of your shoes and protective equipment should be.
